LEED
LEED Certification Awarded to St. David's School of Nursing!
The Nursing Building at Texas State University's Round Rock campus has been awarded LEED Silver certification by the U.S. Green Building Council and verified by the Green Building Certification Institute. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the nation’s preeminent program for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings. Fuel Efficient Vehicle and Carpool Parking Program
The Texas State University Nursing Building, located next to the Round Rock Higher Education Center, was designed to promote sustainability by implementing energy efficient systems, sustainable material selection, and encourage occupants and visitors to make sustainable decisions within their own lives.
If you commute to campus in a fuel efficient vehicle or you coordinate with others to carpool, we would like to reward you for your sustainable decisions by having designated preferred parking available to you.
HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:
Fuel Efficient Parking
If you commute to the School of Nursing in Round Rock in a fuel efficient “green” vehicle, you are encouraged to take advantage of a limited number of preferred parking spots available just for you! To take advantage of this program, just follow these steps:
1. Determine whether your vehicle qualifies for this program by clicking HERE .
2. Find designated green parking spots. These are located close-in right next to the Nursing Building. Click HERE for a diagram showing the location and when you arrive on campus, look for the green curbs and signage.
Carpool Program
If you commute to the School of Nursing in Round Rock with 2 or more other individuals, you are taking the first step to reducing the carbon footprint for you and your fellow Bobcats. To take full advantage of this program, just follow these steps:
1. Ask your department administration if there are any existing carpool groups, ride boards or for information on how to set one up.
2. Find the designated carpool spots. These are located close-in right next to the Nursing Building. Click HERE for a diagram showing the location and when you arrive on campus, look for the blue curbs and Carpool signage.
