Accreditation

Texas State University-San Marcos is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). The Nursing Program was approved to be added to the existing university accreditation in September 2008.
 
The Nursing program has also been approved by:
  •  the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (January 2009);
  •  the Texas Board of Nursing (April 2009).

An application for accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) was submitted in September 2010, with a visit scheduled for November 2011. Full accreditation is expected in time for the first class to graduate in Spring 2012.
