Arthur Storer Toastmasters Club members were excited to meet our future nurses (shown in the photo above displaying the "Heart of Texas State" hand sign). Our students, who are part of Texas State's first Nursing class, learned that Toastmasters offers them an opportunity to enhance their communication and leadership skills.

Health Fair at the School of Nursing, April 30, 2011

Texas State University's School of Nursing held its first health fair on April 30, 2011. Nursing students, faculty and community members took part in the event. Students from the Round Rock Health Science Academies participated in the event to learn more about nursing. Free blood pressure and glucose screenings, massage therapy, and health education was provided to the community. Several Round Rock health-related businesses participated in the event. Non-perishable food items were collected to support our local food banks at the Round Rock Serving Center and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Fun was had by all. We hope you join us again next year!
