Criteria for the Outstanding School of Nursing Alumni

PURPOSE: 

To publicly honor the contributions of graduates of the St. David’s School of Nursing practicing as Registered Nurses (RN) or as Advanced Practice Nurses (APRN) who exemplify the mission, vision, and values of St. David School of Nursing.

SPONSOR:

Texas State University: St. David’s School of Nursing

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  1. Nominee must be a graduate of the St. David’s School of Nursing
  2. Nominee must be licensed as an RN or APRN
  3. Nominee must be currently practicing as an RN or APRN
  4. Nominee must demonstrate evidence of excellence in nursing practice
  5. Nominee must exhibit practice that reflects the mission, vision and values of the St. David’s School of Nursing at Texas State University

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

  1. Quality of Practice - Systematically enhances the quality and effectiveness of Nursing practice
  2. Education - Attains knowledge and competency that reflects current nursing practice and shares this knowledge with others
  3. Collaboration – Collaborates with the client, the family, other professionals, and community organizations to promote health
  4. Research – Integrates research findings into nurse practice
  5. Leadership – Provides leadership in health services and the profession of nursing
