Standardized Patient Program

About the Volunteer Program

St. David's School of Nursing is located at Texas State University's Round Rock campus.  We have a Standardized Patient Volunteer Program which provides nursing students with opportunities to develop their clinical skills.  Standardized Patients are individuals from the community who are carefully chosen and trained to accurately portray a patient in a specific clinical condition.

There are many benefits of being a Standardized Patient including the opportunity to:

  • Obtain volunteer service hours
  • Contribute to the education of healthcare professionals
  • Gain a better understanding of the healthcare system
  • Increase your medical knowledge
